Product Number Discrecepancy

Dan Perach
asked this on April 03, 2011 00:52

within the products tab I see over 11,000 "active" products

but within my google data feed I see only 3,000 items

Is this discrepancy because most items have not yet been categorized?

Hi Dan,

Yes, we are in the process of categorizing your products. This typically takes 5-7 business days. All new products (defined as UICs not previously seen by our system) go through this manual process. The purpose of the categorization process is to ensure each engine receives optimal product categories as per their specific category taxonomy.

thanks for your reply Joonas.

I'd suggest that the new items that our in the categorization process be marked as "pending" rather than active, ie. 3,000 active products and 8,000 pending products.

another topic: I'd like to provide our shopping feed to google in UK... I understand which is why I've name our products 1234-us

Is it acceptable to now add additional products, ie. 1234-uk for a uk feed? and must the price be in pounds, or is it ok to leave price in usa dollars?

Thanks for the suggestion regarding how active products are shown, this is something we definitely plan to incorporate in the future.

For Google Product Search UK, you would need to have the price in pounds (including UK tax / VAT). This information will also need to be shown on the product pages. This basically means that you will need to have a solution in place to direct UK traffic to a site with UK specific information (i.e. UK version of your website). Your UK feed also needs to be separate from your U.S. feed. Technically it's not a problem for us to deliver your UK feed to Google but you would need to resolve all of these issues. Please contact us via the ticket feature in your SingleFeed account if you are interested in pursuing this.
