Supported Fields

Below are all of the fields that SingleFeed supports, with simple explanations of each. For optimal results provide as many as possible!

Note that while field names are not case sensitive, they will have to match exactly. For example, UPC must have the exact field name: UPC (UNIVERSAL PRODUCT CODE).

The order of these fields is not important.

Bid Fields

Required Fields

The following fields are required in order to submit your products through SingleFeed.

'UNIQUE INTERNAL CODE'

A SKU or unique internal ID is required for all products. This is not the Manufacturer Part Number or Universal Product Code. If you don't have a unique internal SKU system, create an ordered list, giving each product a number: 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. This ID CANNOT change and must stay consistent throughout imports. It also must be unique to each product. SingleFeed will reject items with duplicate UICs. This field is case sensitive. Example - ABC123 and abc123 are two unique products.

'PRODUCT NAME'

Short, simple description of your product. Don't use words like best, lowest price, on sale, etc. Maximum number of characters is 100.

'PRODUCT DESCRIPTION'

Describe the product you're selling. Don't use words like best, lowest price, on sale, or other promotional text like "free shipping", etc. Do use the popular keywords users would search for to find that item. Maximum number of characters is 900.

'PRODUCT PRICE'

This is the regular price for the item before rebates, sales, coupons, etc.

Example: 123.99. Don't use a '$'.

'PRODUCT URL'

This is the link where the product is located on your site. Don't use a generic URL. You must start the link with http://

'IMAGE URL'

This is the URL for the image of the product you're selling. Don't use a generic URL. You must start the link with http:// and you must be using a standard file extension like .jpg, .gif, etc... Do not include images with watermarks.

'CATEGORY'

This is the category on YOUR site. Separate category levels with '>' For example, if you sell air conditioners under your Home & Garden section, you'd put "Home & Garden > Air Conditioners". Besides sending your site's categorization to some shopping engines, SingleFeed depends on this field to properly categorize your products into each shopping engine's specific taxonomy. Because of this, you should make sure to include the specific categorization for every product you submit. 'Home and Garden' or 'Electronics' is not enough, you must go deeper. Also, categories like 'Clearance' or 'Full Site Search' are not acceptable. Not including a proper category will significantly hold up the categorization process.

'MANUFACTURER'

The manufacturer or brand of the product. If you personally manufacture the product, insert your name.

Strongly Recommended Fields

The following fields are strongly recommended, depending on the type of product and the engines you are submitting to.

‘STOCK STATUS’

This field accepts 2 values: Y, N. If left blank, SingleFeed will enter a default value of 'Y'.

Please make sure to provide accurate Stock Status information for all items, or leave out-of-stock items out of the feed.

For Google Product Search only: we also support AVAILABLE FOR ORDER and PREORDER

‘CONDITION (IF NOT NEW)’

This field accepts 4 values: New, Used, OEM, Refurbished. If left blank, SingleFeed will enter a defalt value of 'New'.

‘MPN (MANUFACTURER PART NUMBER)’

This is one of the most important fields you will fill out, so take the time to make sure you enter the correct MPN. If you also know the UPC code for the product, fill that into the appropriate field, too.

‘ISBN (IF BOOK)’

This is one of the most important fields you will fill out, so take the time to make sure you enter the correct ISBN. ISBNs are 10 or 13 digits long.

‘UPC (UNIVERSAL PRODUCT CODE)’

This is one of the most important fields you will fill out, so take the time to make sure you enter the correct UPC. UPCs are either 10 or 12 digits long. Use a separate field called EAN for the 13 digit European Article Numbers.

MSRP’

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the item. US dollars, with a decimal point and no $ sign.

'SALE PRICE'

This field is strongly recommended if your product is on sale. If filled out (and not equal to 0) this price will overwrite the main Product Price on some shopping engines. The others will display both prices together (highlighting the fact that your item is on sale... and this is the real benefit). Only fill out field if the product is on sale. You are still required to include the regular price in the 'Price' field. Example: 99.99. Don't use a '$'.

'SHIPPING COST'

Optional, but strongly recommended if your store has a flat rate shipping option (ie: it doesn't rely on "zones").  List the lowest priced flat rate option for the US.  If shipping is free, enter 0. Otherwise, use the following format: 4.99 (no '$').

'SHIPPING WEIGHT'

Optional, but recommended if you price shipping according to weight.  Enter a numerical value in pounds with no more than two decimal places.  ie:  "7.25"

See here for more information about the GTIN field from Google.

 'Item Group ID'

Shared identifier for all variants of the same product. All items that are color/material/pattern/size variants of the same product must have the same item group id. If you have a “Parent SKU” that is shared by all variants of a product, you can provide that as the value for 'item group id'. Required for Apparel products on Google Product Search.

'Google Age Group'

Target age group of the item. Accepts either 'Adult' or 'Kids'. Required for Apparel products on Google Product Search.

'adwords_redirect'

For Google Product Search only.  This is used in conjunction with Google AdWords Product Ads. Specify a specific url that the ad should redirect to. This allows you to override the feed's product URL when the product is shown within the context of Product Ads and therefore direct the user to a different page.  This allows advertisers to track different sources of traffic separately from Google Product Search. You must start the link with http://

'adwords_grouping'

For Google Product Search only.  This is used in conjunction with Google AdWords Product Ads.  Used to group products in an arbitrary way. It can be used for Product Filters to limit a campaign to a group of products, or Product Targets to bid differently for a group of products. This is a required field if the advertiser wants to bid differently to different subsets of products in the CPC or CPA % version. It can only hold one value.  Example: "comforters"

'adwords_labels'

For Google Product Search only.  This is used in conjunction with Google AdWords Product  Ads. Very similar to adwords_grouping, but it will only only work on CPC. It can hold multiple values, allowing a product to be tagged with multiple labels. Example: "comforters, bedding, sheets, duvets"

'custom label 0' through 'custom label 4'

Used with Google Shopping campaigns. You can use custom labels if you want to provide values of your choosing to subdivide your products. For example, you can use custom labels to indicate that products are seasonal, on clearance, best sellers, etc. Submit only one value per item for each custom label attribute. Do not use underscores in the field names.

'mobile link'

You can use this attribute to provide links to mobile-optimized versions of the landing pages for your products. Mobile-optimized landing pages are pages optimized for smartphones and feature phones.

'excluded destination'

For Google Product Search only. Can be used to exclude products from Google Shopping or from Google Commerce Search. To exclude a product from Google Shopping, use the value "Shopping". To exclude a product from Google Commerce Search, use the value "Commerce Search". More on this field here.

'Sale Price Effective Date'

Example: 2011-03-01T1600-0800/2011-03-03T1600-0800

'availability date'

If you are accepting orders for products that are available for preorder, use this attribute to indicate when the product becomes available for delivery.

Date specified by the format (YYYY-MM-DD), followed by the letter ‘T’, the time of the day when availability begins, followed by an expression of the time zone, as defined by the ISO 8601 standard.

Example: 2014-12-25T13:00-0800

online_only’

This is used to indicate if you have a product that is only available online and not in your physical store. There are only two accepted values 'y', if any item is not available in your store to purchase or 'n' if a customer can buy the posted item at your physical location.

'Google Alt Images'

Used to send additional images of an item to Google. For example, if you have images that show the product from a different angle than the main image, or if you have images of the packaging or the product in various settings. You can include up to 10 additional images per item. Separate each image URL by a comma. URLs must include the http:// portion and comply with regular image URL requirements. See also field 'Alt Image' for another way to submit these to Google.

product_review_average’

This is the average rating for one of your products based on a one to five scale, with 5 being the highest rating. The average should be based on the reviews and ratings that are displayed on your landing page and must be in between 1.0 and 5.0.

product_review_count’

This is the total number of reviews for one of your products. Please only count reviews and ratings that are displayed on your landing page.

'GOOGLE EXPIRATION DATE'

The date that an item listing will expire. Defaults to 30 days.

Example: 2011-08-19

'identifier exists'

For Google Shopping: In categories where unique product identifiers are required, merchants must submit the ‘identifier exists’ attribute with a value of FALSE when the item does not have unique product identifiers appropriate to its category, such as GTIN, MPN, and brand. Typically used with custom items.

'multipack'

For Google Shopping: The ‘multipack’ attribute indicates the number of identical products in a merchant-defined multipack. Must be a whole number, like 6.

'is_bundle'

Merchant-defined bundles are custom groupings of different products defined by a merchant and sold together for a single price. A bundle features a main item sold with various accessories or add-ons, such as a camera combined with a bag and a lens. The main item of a bundle is the featured product of those items included in the bundle. Since they are defined by the merchant, these bundles as a whole unit typically do not have unique product identifiers. When submitting a merchant-defined bundle, use the 'is bundle' attribute and provide the unique product identifiers corresponding to the main item in the bundle. Using the 'is bundle' attribute for your merchant-defined bundles will allow you to distinguish them from multipacks and product listings that contain a main item only.

When to include: Required to submit merchant-defined bundles for all countries except Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and Turkey.

Type

Boolean: TRUE or FALSE

The pattern or graphic print featured on a product. For example, a t-shirt might have a logo of a sports team and have pattern values of “Bears”, “Tigers”, etc. A dress might come in two prints, and have pattern values of “Polka Dot”, “Striped”, “Paisley”, etc.

'size_type'
